Its setting can help you heal even before you step inside. Once you enter the center, you’ll meet with staff who’ll assess your needs and will show you to your own bedroom and bathroom. This arrangement provides privacy and access to medical assistance if you need it. The facility’s common areas are also accessible and comfortable, offering opportunities to receive treatment, connect with others, eat, exercise, and relax. While you’re there, Keystone Retreat Behavioral Health will do everything it can to make you feel welcome.

About the Staff

At Keystone Retreat Behavioral Health, our people set us apart. Every member of our staff is committed to creating an environment that is safe, supportive, and respectful. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be cared for by professionals who understand what it takes to guide you through recovery.

Our team includes nurses and physicians who provide medical oversight during detox, as well as licensed social workers and clinical counselors who lead therapy sessions and manage individualized treatment plans. Behavioral health technicians are always available to offer hands-on support, while our kitchen and housekeeping staff ensure that you enjoy nutritious meals and a clean, comfortable environment. For veterans, we offer specialized guidance on benefits, and for those interested in holistic wellness, we provide weekly yoga sessions led by experienced instructors.

We also have dedicated recovery advocates who serve as a bridge between patients and staff to make sure your concerns are heard and your needs are met. To maintain the highest standards of care, every team member receives ongoing training through Relias on both a monthly and annual basis.

At Keystone Retreat Behavioral Health, our staff doesn’t just work here; they create a community where healing and growth truly take place.

Amenities and Activities

Recovery is a serious commitment, but we understand that life doesn’t stop while you heal. If your career allows for remote work, Keystone Retreat Behavioral Health provides the flexibility to continue meeting your job responsibilities during treatment. Outside of scheduled therapy sessions and group activities, you’re free to use personal devices like phones, laptops, and tablets to stay connected and manage your work.

We also encourage you to maintain strong connections with your loved ones throughout your stay. Your devices can be a valuable way to share your progress, celebrate milestones, and receive encouragement from family and friends.

When it’s time to step away from screens, our campus offers plenty of opportunities to recharge. Enjoy access to modern fitness equipment, or take advantage of outdoor activities such as horseshoes and peaceful walks around the grounds. Inside, you can join a game of Foosball or pool, relax with a book from our library, or participate in group outings and recreational programs.

At Keystone Retreat Behavioral Health, we believe that while treatment requires effort, rest and recreation are just as important for long-term healing.

Intake and Detox

From the moment you arrive at Keystone Retreat Behavioral Health, you’ll be welcomed with compassionate, individualized care. The intake process begins with simple comforts, perhaps a good meal and a relaxing space to settle in. As part of intake, our team will meet with you, answer your questions, and complete assessments to better understand your physical and mental health needs. You’ll also receive a tour of the facility so you can feel at ease in your new surroundings.

For many, the first stage of treatment is detoxification, which usually lasts three to five days. During detox, your body clears away alcohol or drugs, and you may be prescribed medications to help reduce cravings, ease withdrawal symptoms, or calm anxiety. Because detox is medical in nature, our staff monitors you closely – checking your vital signs such as heart rate and breathing, especially during the early phases. You’ll be encouraged to rest and restore your strength, laying the foundation for the next stage of your recovery journey.

Our Treatments

At Keystone Retreat Behavioral Health, group therapy is at the heart of our treatment approach. Led by experienced drug and alcohol counselors, these sessions focus on specific topics that matter most in recovery. One day, the discussion may center on managing anger, while another might explore relapse prevention and coping strategies.

Group sessions generally last about six hours a day, giving you time to participate in other treatments as well. Depending on your needs, you may engage in trauma-focused therapies like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) or take part in family therapy to strengthen communication and rebuild relationships. You’ll also have opportunities to attend SMART Recovery and Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings, where peer support reinforces your commitment to sobriety.

A typical day may begin as early as 5 a.m. with medication management and continue until 10 p.m. during the week or 11 p.m. on weekends, though you always have the option to rest earlier. Part of recovery is finding the daily rhythm and healthy habits that best support your long-term wellness.

What to Expect

From the moment you arrive at Keystone Retreat Behavioral Health, the healing process begins. We’ll start by learning about your physical and mental health so we can design the right treatment approach for you. You’ll also take a tour of our facility, meet members of our team, and learn more about what your time here will look like. After settling into your private room, you may spend three to five days in medically supervised detox or move directly into treatment, depending on your needs.

Treatment includes daily group therapy sessions as well as specialized approaches for challenges such as trauma, relationship issues, or other underlying concerns. You’ll also have the chance to attend support group meetings, connect with peers, and maintain regular contact with your loved ones throughout your stay. Beyond therapy, you’ll enjoy balanced, chef-prepared meals, fitness opportunities, recreational activities, and time to recharge.

As your stay progresses, we’ll work with you to plan for aftercare—the ongoing support that helps sustain sobriety once you leave our center. Every recovery plan is tailored to you, and if something doesn’t feel right, our staff will adjust to ensure your comfort and progress. At Keystone Retreat Behavioral Health, the focus is always on you, your needs, and your path toward lasting wellness.

Everyday Life at the Center

At Keystone Retreat Behavioral Health, we know that good food is an important part of healing. Our kitchen team prepares meals that are both hearty and nutritious, designed to give you strength and comfort throughout your recovery. You’ll also enjoy a wide variety of dishes, from steak and stir-fry to fresh vegetables, classic breakfasts, and homemade desserts.

Mealtimes follow a steady routine to provide structure:

  • Breakfast: 7:00–8:00 a.m. (Sundays 8:00–9:00 a.m.)
  • Lunch: 12:00–1:00 p.m.
  • Dinner: 5:00–6:00 p.m.

Our housekeeping team works just as hard to create a welcoming environment. They handle daily tasks like laundering linens, cleaning rooms, and keeping all common areas hygienic and safe. If you need toiletries or personal items, you can order them online, or staff members can assist with purchases on designated days.

While rehab may not feel exactly like home, at Keystone Retreat Behavioral Health, we strive to provide the comfort, care, and familiarity that help make your journey a little easier.

Food

Meals at Keystone Retreat Behavioral Health follow a consistent schedule to provide stability and routine. Breakfast is served from 7:00–8:00 a.m., lunch from 12:00–1:00 p.m., and dinner from 5:00–6:00 p.m. Our menu rotates on a four-week cycle to ensure variety, but if you have dietary restrictions or simply don’t care for a particular dish, alternative options are always available to meet your needs.

What to Bring

Pennsylvania weather is full of surprises. It’s not unusual to experience all four seasons in a single day. Visitors should plan for anything, from sudden snow flurries in summer to springlike warmth in the middle of winter. In short, pack a little bit of everything to be prepared. While it’s smart to bring your personal essentials, Keystone Retreat Behavioral Health also provides travel-size toiletries such as soap, toothpaste, and deodorant if you need them.

Testimonials

“From the first call, Keystone Retreat made the process feel manageable. Admissions explained what to expect, answered my questions clearly, and helped me understand the next steps. Once I arrived, the staff were consistent, professional, and genuinely supportive.

What stood out most was the clinical care—group sessions were structured and practical, and individual sessions helped me get to the root of what was driving my patterns. I left with real tools (not just encouragement) and a clear aftercare plan.

If you’re looking for a program that’s organized, compassionate, and focused on long-term stability, I’d recommend Keystone Retreat.” – Bethany
